New Grad, Entry LevelExperience Columbia SC is seeking an Engineering Assistant who will be responsible for performing general facility maintenance including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical repairs. The role involves completing repairs, conducting preventative maintenance, and maintaining records on equipment.

Responsibilities
Complete the repair of electrical components for facilities, including lighting, wire repair, electrical fixtures, control equipment, etc
Disassembles and repair defective equipment
Perform repairs, preventative and predictive maintenance
Supply clients using the facility with utility services, connect electrical equipment, fuse panels to adjust amp
Responsible for making basic repairs to facility plumbing, such as faucet maintenance and repair and replace
Responsible for making basic repairs to facility HVAC, such as repairing leaks in the system or replacing thermostats
Performs basic carpentry tasks; including but not limited to painting, sheet rock repair, doors, and hardware repair
Interpret blue prints, manufacturer’s specifications and written and oral instructions
Responsible for assisting and maintaining maintenance records on Center equipment
Responsible for the repair of the building and grounds
All other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must be able to work scheduled shifts based on department needs
Must be computer literate
Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and manuals, blueprints and be able to calculate figures and take measurements
Good communication skills are required
Must be able to problem solve and have the ability to develop and recommend solutions
Must be able to interact with people from various backgrounds
Must be able to operate a forklift and scissor lift up to 65 feet in height
Must have a valid SC Driver's License
High School diploma or GED required
Must have remodeling experience or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Must be certified to operate a forklift and scissor lift, or be able to achieve certification within three (3) months
