The Inside Sales Representative for Power & Energy is responsible for driving business growth through lead generation, technical quoting, and customer engagement, supporting the external sales team with accurate project estimates.

Responsibilities

Collect and submit Request for Quotes (RFQs) from multiple sources in a timely manner
Proactively research and identify new project opportunities using IIR, Builder’s Exchange, CAT’s Govprospect.com, and other construction project databases
Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads for standby power generation, including diesel and natural gas gensets
Serve as the primary quoting resource for standby generators (<300kW), including configuration, pricing, and proposal generation
Support EPG outside sales representatives by preparing timely and accurate quotes
Track quote status and follow up with customers and sales reps to ensure closure and gather feedback
Communicate with current and prospective customers via phone, email, and in-person to gather project requirements and promote solutions
Build and maintain lasting relationships by understanding customer needs and providing value-driven solutions
Coordinate customer-facing activities to support sales closure and relationship management
Collaborate with the Power Systems team to align strategic initiatives and sales campaigns
Monitor and report market intelligence, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform sales strategy
Maintain and expand the company’s prospect database in Ohio CAT’s CRM, ensuring accurate contact information and tracking projects and customer interactions

Required

1-2 years of experience in inside sales, quoting, or estimating in power generation or a related electrical industry
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating responsiveness
Collaborative mindset with a strong work ethic
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently

Preferred

Associate or Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field
Proficiency in electrical systems and generators; electrical engineering concepts
Familiarity with IIR, Builder's Exchange, Dodge, or similar construction project tracking platforms
Industry experience with power systems, heavy machinery, dealer operations, or Caterpillar products
