As an XR Engineering Intern, you will join the PC Audio Integration team to help deliver Dolby Atmos spatial audio while leveraging AI and natural language processing to enhance user experiences.

Responsibilities

Build and extend local APIs using Python and FastAPI
Design and implement an MCP server and MCP client on Windows
Create event-driven workflows such as natural language prompts or button presses that trigger Dolby processing
Collaborate with senior engineers on architecture, user research, and product value discovery
Demonstrate your work and generate technical documentation

Required

Working toward a Bachelor's or Master's degree in software development or AI engineering, or demonstrates equivalent experience
Excellent skill with Python, familiarity with C++ and interoperability libraries like pybind11
Familiarity with FastAPI, FastMCP, the Python MCP SDK, or similar Python AI frameworks
Understanding of APIs and API services, such as AWS Bedrock, Anthropic API, and OpenAI API
Familiarity with agentic frameworks, such as LangChain, LangGraph, or AutoGen
Familiarity with prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented Generation (RAG), and structured outputs
Familiarity with the Windows development environment, including Microsoft Visual Studio and Windows MCP development tools

Preferred

Experience designing MCP servers and MCP clients
Familiarity with event-driven systems
Familiarity with Windows audio APIs, including ISpatialAudioClient, ISpatialAudioMetadata, and WASAPI
Familiarity communicating with Windows USB Human Interface Devices (HIDs)
Experience with software test development and automated test frameworks, such as pytest or Googletest
Interest in audio/video processing, accessibility technologies, and multimedia!
