STEM Programming Specialist
Veterans Upward Bound at UWM is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented STEM Programming Specialist to support interactive STEM programming and events for project participants. The role involves designing and executing STEM related experiential learning opportunities for Veterans, ensuring programming runs efficiently, and providing administrative support.

Responsibilities
Assist in the planning, development, implementation, monitoring, and assessment of all STEM and post-secondary education related instructional programs, including the Summer Academic Curriculum Series (Veterans In STEM)
Organize workshops, seminars, and hands-on activities for participants during the VUB spring and summer semesters
Partner with the VUB Director to create educational STEM opportunities for participants through campus and community outreach and partnerships
Support the development and distribution of promotional materials for the UWM VUB programs to enhance participant recruitment and engagement
Assist the VUB Director and Advisors in coordinating and preparing academic and summer programming activities related to college readiness
Provide other daily office and programming support in collaboration with the VUB Director, including but not limited to administrative duties, and outreach to other TRIO & Precollege offices or campus partners
Maintain detailed records, including but not limited to communications, event details, and participant feedback
Assist in marketing, communications, social media, and public relations efforts. Drafting and producing event materials, including branding, look & feel, and programming
Perform outreach and build collaborative relationships with relevant campus and community partners
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or higher (granted by date of hire) in a STEM or related field
Demonstrated experience working with populations historically underrepresented in higher education (e.g., first-generation students, Pell-eligible students)
Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office, Qualtrics, Sharedrive) and familiarity with workflow databases (e.g., Asana, Blumen)
Ability to work evenings/weekends (25%) during the spring/summer semesters, and 15-25 hours per week between the hours of 9am-4pm, Monday-Friday
Highly organized, resourceful, and able to work independently
Strong communication skills, professional demeanor, and dependability
Preferred
Experience working with adults in a learning or educational environment
At least one year of experience in event planning, program management, and/or curriculum development
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workloads with minimal supervision
Experience working with Veterans or familiarity with Veteran-related state and federal benefits
