Responsibilities

Planning daily activities on-site for residents experiencing multiple levels of cognitive and physical support
Planning activities off-site on a regular basis for residents experiencing multiple levels of cognitive and physical support
Maintaining an appropriate calendar of events and programs to meet the requests, needs, and interests of the residents monthly
Provide relevant educational information to the population we serve
Make routine health screenings available
Be aware of community resources (budget, supplies, etc.)
Create and distribute newsletters on a monthly basis
Maintain community rooms (supplies, set-up, cleaning, etc.)
Understand and work within the budget to order necessary supplies for activities
Track expenses and review for any overages
Instruct, inform, teach, coach and mentor caregiver staff regarding activity programming
Responsible for the utilization and location of the disaster plan/ emergency preparedness manual as well as emergency phone numbers including Executive Director, Leasing Consultant, Maintenance Director, Police, Fire Department, EMS etc
Coordinate and work with the Leasing Consultant and Executive Director to support visibility in the greater community
Meet/exceed established performance goals
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of his/her job processes and procedures
Efficiently use resources (including staff and management) to obtain additional knowledge
Demonstrate a 'can do' attitude by responding positively to instructions
Follow instructions and work harmoniously with others to complete the job or task

Take initiative to offer ideas to improve processes or results
Maintain a safe workplace
Report all unsafe work conditions to the Executive Director

Attend all required department events, staff meetings, and any other job-related functions
Attend and successfully complete all mandatory trainings
Regular and reliable attendance
Perform other tasks as required
Ability to work with people with physical and mental disabilities including those using profanity, derogatory language and the like
Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; labor management, scheduling, planning, assigning and directing work; receiving calls and finding replacements for absent staff; preparing performance evaluations; receiving and resolving employee complaints; monitoring and correcting job performance of employees; and disciplining employees up to and including discharge

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent required
Must have or be able to obtain CDL/Chauffer's License and have a clean driving record

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Strong supervisory and leadership skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Tolerate potential exposure to blood, body tissues, and fluids with occasional exposure to hazardous materials and infectious diseases
Manual dexterity required to operate modern office equipment
Ability to travel as needed or assigned

Preferred

Previous experience in geriatric activity events and programming strongly preferred
Leadership experience strongly preferred
