Responsibilities

Provide database application development and support skills in code development and maintenance projects
Proficiency in databases, systems and software analysis, design, development, troubleshooting and integration using Oracle’s PL/SQL and other tools or languages as appropriate
Involved with the most complex and critical systems at the MPCA

Required

Position requires a minimum of three (3) years of IT related experience in Application support in the role of database developer or code modifications
Experience with SQL Developer, TOAD, reporting (with tools similar to Tableau), or other database coding program, plus PLSQL code development related to packages, procedures, and functions
Experience in database, systems, software analysis, query tuning, design, development, troubleshooting, and integration
Experience working with survey submission or reporting tools that interact with relational database management systems (RDBMS)
Experience supporting code/applications that interact with relational databases such as Oracle or Postgress
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a manner that facilitates mutual understanding
Customer-focused approach grounded in active listening, empathy, and solution-oriented problem-solving to deliver positive user experiences
Education in Information Technology (IT) or an IT related field may substitute for experience as follows: a master's degree for eighteen (18) months of experience; a bachelor's degree for one (1) year; and an associate's degree for six (6) months

Preferred

Developing and estimating applications that follow best practices in relation to secure coding and accessibility
Experience documenting code and designs along with technical processes and procedures
Technical knowledge of various software packages and tools such as PL/SQL, Angular JS, HTML, and web servers, plus working with code repositories and related tools such as Git, GitHub, and GitLab
Experience working as a team member on complex application development projects
Knowledge of various methodologies such as SDLC, ITIL, Project Management roles, Change and Release Management, Technical Design, and Software Development Architecture
Knowledge and/or strategies related to Development, Testing Processes, Automated Testing, Code Reviews, Identity and Access Management, Application Maintenance, User Interfaces, and Modular Development
Experience working with environmental information
