Responsibilities
Assisting patients throughout the on-site registration and arrival process for both scheduled and unscheduled visits within the Emergency Department
Completing accurate patient registrations, collecting demographic and insurance information, and handling patient financial obligations at the time of service
Performing financial clearance activities on assigned scheduled accounts during registration downtimes
Delivering professional, friendly, and respectful service to patients and internal team members to ensure positive patient experiences
Travel between sites and extended or varied hours may be required based on departmental needs
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Proficient in using computers and computer systems
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work effectively with patients, the public, and co-workers
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
Preferred
At least 1–2 years of prior patient registration experience
