Visitor Center Coordinator (part-time)

Greater Kingston Community Chamber of Commerce is seeking an organized individual to serve as the Visitor Center Coordinator. This role involves ensuring the Visitor Center is welcoming and providing visitors with information about local attractions and events, while also supporting Chamber members and coordinating volunteers.

Responsibilities

Greet visitors, answer incoming calls, and respond to emails in a professional and timely manner
Provide visitors with information about local attractions, businesses, accommodations, events, and tourism-related services
Update the seasonal and event specific resources available at the Visitor Center, including contacting local partners to replenish materials or verify info as needed
Assist Chamber members with inquiries, membership information, and general support
Assist in planning and executing Chamber-sponsored events such as monthly member events, tourism and seasonal events
Help onboard new volunteers, troubleshoot tasks with them and foster a positive team environment whether at the office or at an event
Maintain and update member records and visitor information in the Chamber’s database and integrations with electronic visitors’ kiosk
Assist with posting updates and information on the Chamber’s websites and social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok)
Update or create new graphics for Chamber and Visitor Center events and initiatives, draft copy for newsletter or online postings, liaise with community to obtain relevant materials to assist in event promotion
Assist with special projects or tasks as needed by the Chamber of Commerce Executive Director

Required

Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proactive positive attitude for dealing with questions and improving the experiences of our visitors and members
Experience working with asynchronous document and task management software with dispersed teams to accomplish a goal (familiarity with Google Doc/Calendar/Suite)
Experience teaching yourself and others to use new web-based tools and applications
Knowledge in any one of the following specialties: marketing, design, social media, event management
Passion for the north Kitsap region and sharing that with others
