New Grad, Entry LevelElegy is an emerging grief-support platform founded by bestselling author and therapist Claire Bidwell Smith. They are seeking a Community Manager to help build and grow their online community, focusing on engagement, moderation, and content support.

Responsibilities
Help stand up and organize the Circle-based community (spaces, groups, norms)
Thoughtfully connect members around shared experiences (e.g., sibling loss, suicide loss, parent loss)
Foster a sense of safety, warmth, and belonging
Monitor conversations and group dynamics
Enforce community guidelines with empathy and clarity
Escalate sensitive situations appropriately (with clear boundaries—this is not therapy)
Help generate ideas for community content, prompts, and discussion topics
Proactively ping Claire with suggestions for:
Live sessions
Community events
Educational themes
Support guest experts and special programming
Help onboard early community members (retreat alumni, former clients, etc.)
Track engagement patterns and flag what’s working / what’s not
Help Claire think through community cadence and rhythm
Assist with inviting people into the community
Support early word-of-mouth growth (no heavy marketing required)
Qualification
Required
Is emotionally intelligent and comfortable in grief-adjacent spaces
Loves building thoughtful, values-driven communities
Is organized, proactive, and calm
Can operate independently in an early-stage environment
Community management, content, communications, or member engagement
Strong written communication and interpersonal judgment
Comfortable working part-time, contract, or in an early-stage environment
Preferred
Experience in mental health, grief, wellness, education, or mission-driven spaces is a strong plus
