The role involves conducting social media searches, identifying relevant online presence, and escalating notable findings to attorneys and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Conduct initial social media searches upon case intake to identify online presence before content is altered or removed
Perform routine follow-up searches (generally every 45 days), with additional monitoring driven by:
+ Case events (e.g., depositions, IMEs, trial milestones)
+ Observable activity or posting patterns
+ Attorney or internal requests
Review publicly available activity across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and similar sites
Identify and document notable findings, including:
+ Activity inconsistent with claimed injuries or allegations
+ Newly discovered or previously undisclosed accounts
+ Deleted, scrubbed, or restricted accounts
+ Changes in privacy settings or posting behavior
+ Patterns that may require continued or heightened monitoring
Escalate relevant findings to handling attorneys through:
+ Summary emails
+ Written reports when appropriate
+ Chron-based updates within the Filevine case management platform
Escalate matters internally when indicators suggest potential fraud, including referral to fraud-focused attorneys and investigator teams
Prepare clear, accurate, and defensible documentation, including screenshots with narrative explanations when warranted
Collaborate with attorneys, investigators, and case management staff while maintaining strict confidentiality
All research must rely solely on publicly available information
Strict adherence to firm guidelines prohibiting friending, following, messaging, or interacting with parties
No misrepresentation or deceptive practices permitted
Maintain professional judgment, discretion, and confidentiality at all times
Qualification
Required
Strong proficiency navigating and analyzing social media platforms and online behavior
Excellent written communication and documentation skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
Sound judgment and discretion when identifying and escalating issues
Preferred
Background in investigations, litigation support, insurance SIU, fraud support, compliance, or research roles
Familiarity with OSINT (Open-Source Intelligence) or public-source research methods
Experience working with case management systems (Filevine preferred)
A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred but not required where relevant experience or demonstrated skill exists
