Desktop Support Engineer (Freelance Engineer)
Tech Source Managed Services is seeking freelance Desktop Support Engineers to provide onsite IT support at multiple client locations in Charlotte, NC. The role involves troubleshooting desktop issues, software installation, and coordinating with remote support teams based on project needs.
Responsibilities
Provide onsite desktop and end-user IT support
Troubleshoot Windows laptops/desktops, printers, peripherals
Software installation, configuration, and basic troubleshooting
Handle hardware break/fix
Support Office 365 / Outlook
Basic network troubleshooting (LAN, Wi-Fi)
Coordinate with remote support teams
Update tickets and document work performed
Qualification
Required
Proven experience in Desktop / IT Support
Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11
Familiarity with Active Directory (basic tasks)
Hands-on hardware troubleshooting skills
Good communication and customer-facing skills
Ability to work independently onsite
Local to Charlotte, NC
English speaking
Own laptop & basic IT toolkit
Valid photo ID (mandatory for site access)
Availability for dispatch-based assignments
