Intern, Battery Algorithms, Summer 2026
Responsibilities
Work in a dynamic, cross-functional team to advance our cutting-edge battery management features
Contribute to our world-acclaimed battery product for mass-market passenger vehicles and energy products
Collect and review laboratory and fleet data to support the development and quality assessment of high-quality battery controls and algorithms to ensure safety and performance of vehicle battery packs in real time
Develop/improve advanced battery controls and algorithms to enhance vehicle performance and customer experience
Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as controls, battery cells, embedded software, system engineering, vehicle integration teams to define requirements and perform integration testing
Support the Battery Software department with additional duties/tasks as needed
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of battery chemistries such as LFP and NMC
Knowledge of general battery controls and algorithms design
Experience with battery management systems and EV powertrain
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++
Field(s) of study: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or other related fields
Currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD at an accredited university
Proof of enrollment in current or into the next program (MS, PhD)
Knowledge of electrochemistry and battery modeling
Knowledge of vehicle controls such as motor, onboard charger, and thermal system
