Senior Cloud Data engineer

Solventum is a new healthcare company focused on improving lives through innovative solutions. The Senior Cloud Data Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and support the Enterprise Data Mesh, enabling data-driven healthcare innovations globally.

Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable, efficient, and fault‑tolerant data operations across structured and unstructured data systems
Develop, build, and maintain AWS data platform services including S3, RDS, SQL/NoSQL databases, and data pipelines
Build and maintain robust data pipelines for multi‑tenant database schema changes, ingestion, transformation, and distribution of data streams
Partner with senior technical leads, analysts, engineers, and data scientists to deliver scalable cloud-based data solutions using AWS services
Champion data engineering best practices, driving standards for data quality, pipeline reliability, database design, and consumption efficiency
Mentor and guide internal engineering teams on pipeline development, database standards, and effective data usage

Required

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
8+ years of strong experience deploying, managing, and optimizing cloud data platforms
Proven experience building automation for build, test, and deployment workflows for data pipelines
Expertise in Python, PySpark, Terraform, CloudFormation and advanced SQL techniques
Advanced proficiency in SQL with demonstrated experience in designing and optimizing complex queries

Preferred

Experience automating workflows in multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures and distributed computing using AWS tools such as EMR, Glue, Databricks, and data Lakehouse architectures
Familiarity with GraphQL for API-based data services
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and microservice‑based Data API development
Expertise in stream processing technologies such as Amazon Kinesis, Apache Spark, Storm, or Kafka
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working across cross-functional teams
Professional certifications in AWS, GCP, Azure, or cloud‑native specialties
