This position will assist with media distribution, monitor media coverage, and contribute to reporting and evaluation efforts, requiring detail-oriented and adaptable skills in media relations and data analysis.

Responsibilities
Media Distribution: Upload press releases to news distribution platforms, email services, and science news outlets
Project & Workflow Management: Implement and maintain production workflows for communications content to ensure deadlines are met and quality standards upheld
Media Monitoring: Using existing tools, track and compile coverage reports of ACS in the media; provide excerpts and data for internal awareness and promotional use
Reporting & Analytics: Generate qualitative and quantitative reports on communications activities (monthly, quarterly, and campaign-specific)
Additional Support: Assist with other external communications projects as needed, including social media initiatives, journalist outreach, event-related communications, and communicating with members of the media
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or related field
3–5 years of professional experience in communications, public relations, media, or project management
Strong project management skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks under deadline pressure
Preferred
Familiarity with email distribution tools and basic HTML
Chemistry background helpful but not required
Experience with media monitoring and reporting tools
Knowledge of scientific or nonprofit communications
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with scientific journal publishing is desired
