Responsibilities

Serve as the primary contact for the tribal time study federal administrative cost allocation and administrative reimbursement
Update, develop and deliver training and technical assistance to tribal staff participants concerning identification of project participants, Eligibility Worker Tribal Time Study (EWTTS), Medicaid Administrative Tribal Time Study (MATTS) and Social Service Administrative Tribal Time Study (SSATTS) project coordination functions, activity code training for participants, and cost report completion and submission
Provide oversight and recommendations for modifications of the functioning of the custom software Daylog software system as needed
Develop and implement analytical strategies to provide state and tribal management information on tribal federal administrative reimbursement earned through the tribal cost allocation system
Participate in workgroups and meetings concerning tribal administrative claiming operations and funding
Serve as project manager for the tribal income maintenance federal administrative cost allocation and administrative reimbursement for the Eligibility Tribal Time Study

Required

Two (2) years of professional accounting experience
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and practices
Strong computer skills including knowledge of large complex spreadsheets and databases such as Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to interpret and analyze complex fiscal records and reports, recognize problems, and effect solutions
Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret complex data and use the findings to identify and recommend program improvements and opportunities for simplification of processes
Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance or related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional experience

Preferred

Knowledge of the SWIFT accounting system
Experience with Tribal accounting with federal funds
Experience with statewide accounting systems
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple demands under tight time constraints
Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
Strong data mining skills using SQL, Power BI, Bi Query or other equivalent software
Advanced Excel experience creating macros used to analyze data
Experience reviewing and auditing large financial accounts and reports
Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures
