Responsibilities

Works with management to identify and eliminate safety hazards
Has detailed operational knowledge of the equipment to the point that the Associate can operate within specified quality/quantity limits
Set up, operate and trouble shoot equipment
Maintain equipment to produce product to meet BD’s Quality Standards
Repair equipment within Associate’s capability and follow department escalation plan
Performs preventative maintenance on equipment as specified in the plant preventative maintenance (PM) program
Responsible for recording preventative maintenance, planned and breakdown activities in SAP
Must have mechanical ability and knowledge of proper use of tools, proper troubleshooting and set up procedures
Assist with radiation emergencies when and if they occur
Performs other duties as assigned by Management
Work with limited supervision and perform duties in a prompt and professional manner
Attend training and meetings as required
General housekeeping and clean up of work area / safety awareness
Sustain a productive work environment through effective communication with team members
Obey all company policies, standards and rules, including but not limited to: Safety policies and rules (including lockout procedures); Quality policies and rules
Must maintain regular, punctual attendance

Required

High School diploma or equivalent
Manufacturing experience preferred but not required
Must have a valid driver's license
Basic knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems
Must be able to speak, read and write English
Good interpersonal skills
PCP Level 3: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly
Must maintain regular, punctual attendance
Must obey all safety rules
Must follow all QSR (GMP) regulations
Must cooperate fully with the safety and environmental program
May not pose a direct threat or significant risk to himself/herself or others

Preferred

Vocational/technical school
Manufacturing experience
Forklift – Must be able to obtain License within 3 months
Yard Truck Operation – Must be able to operate within a 3-month period
Radiation certification – Must be able to acquire in 12 months
Computer skills (SAP, Excel, Word preferred) - Basic
