The role involves designing and implementing a cloud-based data warehouse or lakehouse, while ensuring the reliability of existing BI systems and reducing technical debt during the transition.

Responsibilities

Design and implement a cloud-based data warehouse or lakehouse

Define a pragmatic cloud migration strategy for existing BI and reporting workloads

Evaluate and recommend cloud technologies based on scalability, cost, and usability

Build and maintain reliable, analytics-ready data pipelines

Optimize data pipelines and BI performance across legacy and cloud platforms

Implement best practices for data modeling, testing, observability, and CI/CD

Identify, prioritize, and reduce technical debt across data models, pipelines, and infrastructure

Support production BI systems, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and incident response

Maintain best practices through code reviews, version control, and adherence to industry standards

Required

Strong experience building and operating data pipelines, data warehouses and/or data lakehouses

Advanced SQL skills, including performance tuning and dimensional modeling

Strong data modeling experience

Strong programming skills - Python is our primary language

Strong experience working in at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake, Databricks)

Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, Dagster, etc)

Experience designing microservices-based architectures and APIs to build platforms that are flexible, scalable, and resilient

Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools (Tableau, Qlik, Power BI)
