Responsibilities

Bringing the most innovative clinical trials in hematologic malignancies to the Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center and the region utilizing intra and extramural partnerships
Establishing extramural partnerships with the goal of offering innovative drugs in hematologic malignancies to patients before they are standard of care
Developing, initiating, and managing investigator-initiated trials in collaboration with the Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center’s laboratory investigators
Participating in Massey’s Clinical Trial Training Program, writing 2 IITs by year 3 and year 4, and applying for a career development award by year 4
Demonstrating efforts to obtain funding for research in areas consistent with the mission of the School of Medicine, Department, and Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center
Engaging in reasonable scholarly activities, such as publications, presentations at national meetings, and participation in appropriate academic organizations
Active participation as a scientific member of the Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center
Active involvement in decreasing Health Disparities in the community served by Massey/VCU
Attending on the inpatient wards and consult service, and/or seeing patients in the outpatient clinic with a focus on hematologic malignancies

Required

Board certified or eligible in medical oncology or hematology
Eligible for Virginia licensure
Evidence of accomplishment/potential (e.g. - publications, trial PI) during medical school, residency, fellowship, and/or early academic career
Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty at VCU
