System Engineer
PBE Axell designs, manufactures and supports advanced wireless communication and safety systems. The Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and delivering customer-specific communication solutions, working collaboratively with various teams to ensure successful deployment of systems.

Responsibilities
Design communication systems using standard PBE and third-party products to meet customer requirements
Develop custom solutions for a wide range of applications including in-building systems, industrial sites, underground mines, transportation tunnels, and multi-site interconnect networks
Prepare and present technical proposals in support of the Sales Team
Develop final Bills of Materials (BOMs), drawings, and wiring diagrams
Conduct system audits, site surveys, and feasibility studies
Support system installation, configuration, and upgrades of hardware and related software
Develop and execute system level Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
Verify and validate system design performance against specifications
Work with Project Managers to support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities
Provide technical training and support to clients
Respond to inquiries from internal teams, service providers, site personnel, and vendors to provide technical assistance and issue resolution
Maintain familiarity with both analog and digital two-way radio systems and PBE product lines
Perform field coverage testing and system performance verification
Provide feedback and technical insights to Product Development for continuous improvement
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering on custom product development and integration
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
Experience working with RF communication systems (design, testing, or integration)
Strong technical understanding of cellular networks and wireless communications technologies, Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), TETRA, LTE, 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G and experience in IBS, in-building design
Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and organizational abilities
Excellent communication and customer interfacing skills
Ability to communicate technical solutions to a variety of stakeholders
Strong analytical, abstract reasoning, and creative thinking abilities
Ability to interpret and execute verbal and written technical instructions
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills and ability to build relationships and partnerships internally and externally
This role will be based at our Charlotte, NC office with frequent travel to our Tazewell, VA engineering and production facility
Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally to customer sites as required
