The Lead Mental Health Technician is responsible for ensuring patient safety, assisting with planning and oversight of patient care, and mentoring MHTs throughout the facility.

Responsibilities
Ensure patient safety
Assist CNO with planning and oversight of the MHT patient care role
Facilitate the provision of continuous and safe patient care, observation, interaction and role modeling to patient
Responsible for primary training, preceptorship and mentorship of the MHTs throughout the facility
Qualification
Required
High School Degree or equivalent
Three (3) years' of related experience
Knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness
At least one year of experience coaching and developing other staff members in psychiatric patient care techniques or at least one year of experience performing similar duties at the facility
Successful completion of approved Basic Life Support and approved Crisis Prevention & Behavioral Management training
Obtain/maintain certification as an instructor/facilitator for Verbal De-escalation, Aggression Management, CPR/BLS or other additional duties, above and beyond the MHT requirements
May be required to work overtime and flexible hours
Preferred
Certified Nursing Assistant
Knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness
