Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and submit U.S. customs entries via ABI/ACE in compliance with CBP regulations
Classify imported goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)
Determine correct duty, tax, and fee calculations, including application of special programs when applicable
Ensure compliance with Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements (FDA, USDA, EPA, etc.)
Monitor shipments for customs holds, exams, and discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
Communicate effectively with CBP officials, clients, carriers, and internal operations teams
Maintain accurate and complete entry documentation in accordance with CBP recordkeeping requirements
Support post-entry corrections, audits, and compliance reviews as needed
Stay current on regulatory changes, tariff updates, and trade compliance best practices
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customs brokerage clients
Manage day-to-day account activity, ensuring timely clearance and proactive issue resolution
Communicate documentation requirements, customs regulations, and clearance status to customers
Coordinate with licensed brokers, operations teams, carriers, and government agencies
Support onboarding new accounts, including SOP development and process alignment
Monitor service performance and address customer concerns to maintain high satisfaction levels

Required

3–6 years of experience in U.S. customs brokerage or international logistics
Strong working knowledge of U.S. import regulations, customs clearance processes, and HTS classification
Proven ability to manage customer relationships in a fast-paced operational environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
Customer-service oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently

Preferred

Experience supporting ocean freight and port-related imports in the Tampa market
Exposure to PGA-regulated commodities
U.S. Customs Broker License and/or CCS certification (preferred but not required)
Experience supporting multiple clients and commodity types
Experience with defense-related imports subject to DCMA Duty-Free Entry (DFE) and/or DDTC, and/or ATF requirements
Exposure to post-entry activity including Post Summary Corrections and Protests
