Responsibilities

Lead the structural engineering department, providing technical oversight, project leadership, and team development
Mentor and inspire a team of structural engineers
Foster a culture of collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement
Conduct performance evaluations and drive professional development initiatives
Oversee structural design across infrastructure, water, energy, aviation, and commercial projects
Review and approve structural analyses, calculations, models, and design deliverables
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and best practices
Drive innovation and support implementation of new technologies and tools
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and project partners
Participate in meetings, presentations, proposals, and negotiations
Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and exceeding client expectations
Manage workload balancing, scheduling, and team resource allocation
Oversee departmental budgeting and project financial performance
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)Structural engineering experienceSoftware proficiencyLeadership skillsClient relations skillsMentoring skillsCommunication skills

Required

BS or MS in Civil or Structural Engineering
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required; advanced certifications (LEED, ENV SP, PMP) a plus
10+ years of structural engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Proficiency with software such as SAP2000, ETABS, RISA, AutoCAD, Revit, Enercalc, TEDDs
Experience with infrastructure and/or commercial structural systems
Strong communication, mentoring, and client-relations skills
Proven ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects
