Continuous Improvement Engineer

Responsibilities

Lead and facilitate Continuous Improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen projects focused on cost reduction, quality, and process performance
Provide CI training and coaching at all levels of the organization
Partner with Engineering and Operations on staffing, manpower, capacity, and time studies
Maintain CI project schedules, track progress, and document measurable operational improvements
Collaborate with Quality teams to resolve production and process issues
Support Production Control, Material Planning, and Inventory Management improvement initiatives
Conduct time studies, value stream mapping, and OEE analysis
Support prototype and pilot runs to assess design and process feasibility
Calculate cost savings and partner with Finance/Plant Controller to validate and document results
Track and report CI project status and results to plant leadership
Interface with Maintenance to identify equipment improvements, TPM, and reliability opportunities
Serve as a change agent and mentor for team leaders and cross-functional teams

Required

Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
3+ years of experience in Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, or Continuous Improvement
Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, or Process Improvement
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills
Experience with Kaizen events, value stream mapping, root cause analysis, and cost reduction initiatives
Ability to read technical drawings and understand manufacturing processes
Strong communication, facilitation, and change management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools
High-energy self-starter with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

Working toward or holding Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
Automotive industry experience
Bachelor's
Continuous improvement: 5 years
Lean management: 1 year
Lean Six Sigma: 1 year
Automotive Manufacturing: 5 years
