Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance plans, standards, and procedures, including inspection protocols and sampling plans
Lead, mentor, and evaluate QA team members; support training and promote a collaborative, high-performance environment
Oversee manual and automated testing activities to ensure products meet defined quality requirements before release
Monitor product performance, analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies; prepare reports and present findings to senior leadership
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and gather feedback for process improvement
Support departmental financial planning, including budget development and resource allocation

Required

Strong leadership and team-development abilities
Proficiency in quality management principles, methodologies, and tools (including manual and automated testing)
Excellent problem-solving, critical-thinking, and data-analysis skills
Clear and effective communication, documentation, and reporting abilities
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Strong organizational and project-management skills in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, standards, and company processes
Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment
Schedule department safety meetings and participate in food safety training, meetings, and reviews
Maintain adequate inventory of lab supplies, water treatment materials, and product ingredients

Preferred

B.A. or B.S. Degree preferred or 5 years of quality manager experience
Food/beverage manufacturing experience preferred
Strong skills in 8D, SPC, FMEA preferred
HACCP certification
Possess good skills in math, writing, and science
Critical thinking skills
Computer skills include Excel and Word programs
Possess good people and team building skills
