Corporate Tax Attorney
RIGID is seeking a Corporate Tax Attorney responsible for providing strategic and practical legal advice on federal, state, and local tax matters. The role involves partnering with finance, accounting, and business leadership to support transactions, ensure compliance, and manage tax risk.

Responsibilities
Serve as the primary internal legal advisor on all tax-related matters impacting the company, including income, corporate, partnership, international, sales and use, employment, and property taxes
Provide tax planning and structuring advice for corporate initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and reorganizations
Advise on the tax implications of new products, services, and business models
Draft, review, and negotiate tax provisions in commercial agreements, transaction documents, and internal policies
Manage and oversee tax controversy matters, including audits, examinations, administrative appeals, and litigation, in coordination with external counsel and advisors
Interpret and communicate changes in tax laws, regulations, and guidance, and assess their impact on the company’s operations and strategy
Partner with internal stakeholders, including finance, accounting, treasury, human resources, and compliance teams, to ensure consistent and compliant tax practices
Support tax reporting and compliance processes by providing legal analysis and review as needed
Manage relationships with external tax advisors, consultants, and outside counsel, including oversight of budgets and deliverables
Develop and maintain internal tax policies, procedures, and risk management frameworks
Promote a strong culture of ethics, compliance, and governance
Flexibility: Perform additional duties as assigned to support team objectives and enhance operational efficiency, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to evolving responsibilities
Qualification
Required
A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in tax law is required

Preferred
Juris Doctor (J.D.) with active admission and good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience practicing tax law, with a significant portion in an in-house corporate environment or advising corporate clients
Strong technical knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations; international tax experience is a plus
Demonstrated experience supporting complex business transactions and corporate tax planning
Experience managing tax audits and controversies and working with taxing authorities
Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, business-focused advice to non-legal stakeholders
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and exercise sound judgment
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation strongly preferred
Ten (10) or more years of progressively responsible experience focused primarily on tax law
Prior in-house experience or significant experience advising corporate clients in a large law firm or Big Four accounting firm
Experience working closely with finance and accounting teams in a corporate setting
