Responsibilities

Conducts initial flight test of Honda Aircraft Company production aircraft and perform acceptance testing to functionally evaluate the airframe, engines, avionics and other systems to assure that the aircraft meets FAA Certificate of Airworthiness standards
Debriefs engineering and manufacturing personnel on ground and flight discrepancies and provide technical assistance to aid in resolving discrepancies and problems
Represents Honda Aircraft Company on FAA Certificate of Airworthiness flight checks
Conducts test flights of customer aircraft following modification and post Service Center maintenance
Conducts customer acceptance flights prior to delivery
Conducts evaluation flights of used aircraft being sold and/or traded in to ascertain airworthiness and compliance with current functional standards for production aircraft
Helps maintain and develop production acceptance test procedures

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technically related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job
5+ years engineering experience or Airframe/Powerplant experience required
Total minimal flight time required: 1000 hours PIC total time, 500 hours turbine aircraft time, 250 hours PIC turbine aircraft time required
First or Second class medical certificate required
Working knowledge of FAA regulations
FAA Commercial multi-engine instrument rating
Ability to communicate effectively throughout all levels within an organization
Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors
Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, climb ladders, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties
Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.)
Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties
Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions
Effectively communicate in Business English language
Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties
Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided “reach assistance technology” or “movement assist technology” (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly's, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties

Preferred

A&P License – preferred
Previous experience in flight test or as a maintenance test pilot preferred
