Responsibilities

Supporting geometry simplification of standard mechanical assemblies to improve simulation performance and turnaround time
Simplifying and preparing 3D designs in NX for use in simulation workflows
Supporting mechanical design activities within NX to enable simulation and analysis efforts
Collaborating with sensor simulation engineers to support simulation requests and design updates
Assisting with organization and documentation of simulation-ready models and design files

Required

Rising sophomore, junior, or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering. Candidates must not graduate prior to September 2026
Experience with 3D modeling tools. (ie, Creo, NX, Solidworks, etc.)
Ability to work on-site full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the 12-week summer internship
Eligible candidates must be located within 50 miles of Wendell, NC, as this role does not provide relocation support
Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred

Advanced 3D modeling techniques or experience with complex assemblies
Familiarity with simulation concepts or coursework such as finite element analysis
Familiarity with linear algebra
Experience using NX for mechanical design or simulation preparation
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to communicate technical information effectively
Attention to detail and willingness to learn simulation workflows
