Loan Amortization Consultant

Atlas Search is seeking a highly detail-oriented Loan Amortization Analyst to support key analytical functions related to fixed-income securities. The role focuses on amortization, accretion, valuation, and data integrity, requiring strong technical skills and a deep understanding of fixed-income instruments.

Responsibilities

Assist in documenting key process flows and maintaining internal control standards

Reconcile CUSIP-level and loan-level data to administrator records to ensure accuracy and completeness

Reperform yield computations and process selected data overrides as needed

Support the reperformance of amortization and accretion calculations on a tax-lot basis

Assist in tracking and maintaining shadow cost-basis calculations for CECL purposes

Collaborate with internal teams to validate data, resolve discrepancies, and enhance reporting accuracy

Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives where appropriate

Qualification

Fixed-income products knowledgeValuation techniquesAdvanced Excel skillsSQL experienceAnalytical abilitiesCommunication skillsProblem-solving capabilityAttention to detailOrganizational skills

Required

Strong understanding of fixed-income products, including MBS, ABS, and loans, and their corresponding accounting treatment

Working knowledge of valuation techniques and discounted cash flow methodologies

Familiarity with amortization and accretion mechanics for fixed-income instruments; CECL experience a plus

Advanced Excel skills required (e.g., complex formulas, pivot tables, data manipulation)

Ability to organize and analyze large datasets efficiently and accurately

Excellent analytical and quantitative abilities

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrated problem-solving capability and sound judgment

Highly organized with strong attention to detail

Ability to work independently while contributing to team initiatives

Preferred

SQL or other database/query experience is a plus

CECL experience a plus
