Senior Printed Circuit Board Designer
Pi Square Technologies is seeking a Senior Printed Circuit Board Designer to own the end-to-end PCB/PWB layout design for complex, high-reliability products. This role involves developing multi-layer PCB layouts and collaborating with various teams to ensure manufacturability and performance optimization.
Responsibilities
Own end-to-end PCB/PWB layout design for complex, high-reliability products—from concept through manufacturing release
Develop multi-layer PCB layouts (high layer count) involving analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits with strict performance requirements
Translate schematics into optimized layouts while meeting signal integrity (SI), power integrity (PI), EMI/EMC, and thermal constraints
Execute high-speed design practices including controlled impedance routing, length matching, differential pairs, and stack-up definition
Collaborate closely with hardware, signal integrity, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to resolve design trade-offs early—no last-minute surprises
Apply DFM/DFA/DFT principles to ensure manufacturability, testability, yield optimization, and cost control
Prepare and validate manufacturing deliverables: Gerbers, ODB++, drill files, pick-and-place, test points, and fabrication drawings
Support prototype bring-up, debug, and validation, addressing layout-related issues identified during testing or production
Drive layout reviews, enforce design rules, and mentor junior ECAD designers where needed
Qualification
Required
Experience: 8–12 years
Tool Expertise: Altium Designer (non-negotiable)
