Print Production Manager

Pasadena Independent School District is looking for a Print Production Manager to oversee daily production and delivery operations of the district Print Shop. This role involves managing workflow, production scheduling, inventory control, and staff assignments to ensure high-quality printed materials that align with district branding and standards.

Responsibilities

Supervise daily Print Shop operations in a high-volume environment
Assign and manage work orders to ensure timely project completion
Ensure quality control for all printed materials
Log and track service work orders for equipment
Maintain exceptional customer service standards
Monitor and order supplies per PO protocols; manage inventory levels
Oversee operator performance and output
Maintain equipment in optimal working condition
Ensure timely delivery of completed jobs
Create job tickets and assist with customer needs
Assist with production and operate pallet jack as needed
Stay informed on emerging printing trends
Collaborate with Production Specialist on mailroom operations
Engage in continuous professional development
Manage production for black & white copiers, color copiers, duplicators, and large-format equipment
Assist with print orders as needed
Oversee all finishing equipment and workflow
Operate bindery equipment including: drilling, GBC punch/bind, folding, padding, cutting, packaging, mailing, envelope stuffing, stapling, scoring, and perforating
Manage daily operations of all Print Shop personnel, including Production Specialist, Large Format Operator, and Print Operators
Oversee mailroom functions as needed
Perform maintenance on printing and finishing equipment
Coordinate vendor service when required
Ensure all work areas, shelves, counters, and large-format spaces remain clean and organized
Dispose of large‑format scraps and manage pallet pickup

Required

High School Diploma or GED required
Paper stock, pagination, and prepress methods
High‑speed copiers, industrial cutters, and print workflows
Production scheduling, pricing, and job estimation
Strong computer skills
Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, Canva, and Microsoft Office
RIP software familiarity
Excellent stockroom and file organization
Inventory management
Delivery and output logistics
Customer service excellence
Knowledge of toner and inkjet systems
Ability to learn and train on printing/finishing equipment and pallet jacks
Strong communication and leadership abilities
Moderate lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs
Pushing, reaching, bending, standing up to 8 hours
Fine visual acuity for prepress, press, and bindery
Exposure to excessive noise, fumes, inks, chemicals, and moving machinery
Tight deadlines and occasional extended hours

Preferred

Large-format printing and mailroom operations (preferred)
5+ years of professional print shop experience in digital production preferred
