Instrumentation and Controls Maintenance Manager
SIMCO, LLC is the managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) and is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Maintenance Manager. This role involves managing maintenance operations, overseeing the Metrology Program, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities
Manage and direct the Maintenance Operations in the performance of repair, modifications, and replacement of equipment, systems, components, instrumentation, and site structures at WIPP facilities
Implement innovative ways to optimize the utilization of manpower while satisfying the Maintenance needs of the facility
Manage the Metrology Program for the WIPP Site
Manage the radio frequencies required for plant operations and security
Plan, manage, and audit all assigned shop facilities, equipment, and personnel to assure productivity and proper workmanship standards on both surface and underground Instrumentation and controls components
Manage the WIPP site Metrology Program to ensure Measurement and Test Equipment, and Monitoring and Data Collection Equipment is properly calibrated and controlled for use at this facility in accordance with the QAPD
Responsible for maintaining licensing with the FCC for radio frequencies utilized by the site and in accordance with Memorandum of Understanding with local law enforcement agencies
Direct the Daily Plant Maintenance Operations and assume direct responsibility for the performance of assigned tasks in support of overall site operations
Develop and maintain Maintenance and Metrology Administrative procedures to ensure the department is in compliance with DOE Orders, WIPP standard operation procedures, NWP procedures, and other directives to ensure safe and efficient operations
Interface, coordinate, and maintain working relationships with various project departments
Manage assigned personnel to anticipate and direct proper attention to employee development, and anticipate manpower changes to support the project mission
Maintain upper management appraised of section activities. Advise and recommend necessary changes to support Maintenance goals
Prepare and maintain I&C budget as developed for the fiscal year
Conduct employee development strategies for assigned exempt employees
Assure all maintenance training and qualifications are properly completed and documented
Responsible to achieve the desired level of quality, and to review, evaluate, and improve work processes as defined by the Quality Assurance Program
Review maintenance department work orders for accuracy and completeness. Ensure personnel safety and configuration management is maintained
Approve Quality Credit Card and Procurements for the Metrology Office, and Credit Card and procurements within the I&C scope
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree with nine (9) years of professional experience, or
Associate's degree with thirteen (13) years of professional experience, or
High School Diploma or Equivalency with seventeen (17) years of professional experience is required
Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances
This position is included in the Training Implementation Matrix (TIM) which defines requirements for personnel selection, training, qualification and certification requirements at DOE Nuclear Facilities
