Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of control systems for utility scale renewable energy projects, including battery storage
Program and commission SEL and Rockwell controllers
Familiar with closed loop Real Power Compensation/Curtailment Algorithms and Closed loop Reactive Power/PF Compensation/Curtailment Algorithms
Develop detailed design documentation including System Architecture Diagrams, Control Narratives, and Logic Diagrams
Provide technical support for Power Plant Controller
Generate project documentation including commissioning documents, operator manuals and training material
Coordinate with field technicians for on-site commissioning and installation support
Utilize diagnostic utilities to troubleshoot complex monitoring and control systems
Any other actions required by management
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Technology, or related
Ability to communicate with team members and business partners
7+ years of IEC 61131-3/PLC programming experience, including structured text and function blocks
3+ years of power plant control systems experience
Experienced with Storage and Hybrid control systems
Extensive knowledge of industrial protocols such as Modbus-TCP, DNP3, OPC-UA, IEC 61850 and ICCP
Experience with SCADA systems is a plus
Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously
Lead Continuous Improvement/Lessons Learned program
Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States
Travel, 10%
