Lead Embedded Hardware Engineer

GiGa-Ops Global Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Lead Embedded Hardware Engineer to lead the design, development, and validation of embedded hardware platforms for industrial and automation systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in analog and digital circuit design, microcontroller and SoC architectures, and FPGA-based systems.

Computer Software

Responsibilities

Lead embedded hardware design activities from concept to production
Design and review analog and digital circuits for embedded systems
Define hardware architecture for microcontroller- and SoC-based platforms (ARM, PIC, etc.)
Design and implement FPGA-based embedded systems
Create schematics, simulations, and design documentation using CAD tools
Perform board-level bring-up, debugging, and validation
Use oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers for troubleshooting
Ensure compliance with EMC/EMI design standards and PCB layout best practices
Review PCB layouts for signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal considerations
Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and system engineering teams
Drive root cause analysis and resolution of hardware issues
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering
Minimum 5+ years of experience in embedded hardware development
Strong expertise in analog and digital circuit design
Deep understanding of microcontroller and SoC architectures (ARM, PIC, etc.)
Experience in FPGA-based embedded system design
Proficiency with CAD tools for schematic capture and simulation
Hands-on experience with hardware debugging and validation tools
Knowledge of embedded communication protocols: I2C, SPI, UART
Strong understanding of EMC/EMI design principles and PCB layout practices
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills

Preferred

Master's degree in Computer/Electrical/Electronics Engineering
Proficiency in HDL languages (Verilog, VHDL)
Strong FPGA design and implementation experience
Working knowledge of Linux OS, C, C++, and Python
Experience performing FMEA for hardware risk analysis
Knowledge of industrial communication protocols: Ethernet/IP, Profinet, EtherCAT
Exposure to Ultrasonic welding technologies and systems
Experience in Switched Mode Power Supply (SMPS) design
