Responsibilities

Improve quality, safety, and efficiency in the delivery of pharmacy services and utilization of medications
Support the Chief Medical Office’s vision to provide access to high-quality integrated behavioral, developmental, and physical health services regarding pharmaceuticals
Coordinate the efforts of the ten Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities (DSOHF) pharmacies
Provide technical, clinical, administrative, regulatory, and fiscal guidance and review medication utilization and current pharmacy practices
Organize and oversee the Executive Pharmacy and Therapeutics (EP&T) committee
Coordinate technical requirements and supervise aspects of the current Willow Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS)
Streamline pharmacy services across the health system to develop consistency
Manage health system pharmacy contracts
Provide recommendations and direction to the Chief Medical Officer for DSOHF on pharmacy and therapeutics matters

Required

Licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of North Carolina

Preferred

Extensive background working with major electronic health record (EHR) platforms such as Epic Systems, Oracle Cerner, and MEDITECH, as well as pharmacy automation technologies including Omnicell, Pyxis, and Parata
Demonstrated expertise in medication management and pharmacy operations, including policy development, clinical workflow optimization, and service delivery across healthcare environments relevant to DSOHF, such as hospitals, substance use treatment programs, and long‑term care facilities
Solid experience handling third‑party medication billing processes, including Medicare Part D and other payer systems
Strong foundational computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
