Grants Management Specialist (Administrative Specialist II)

The State of Nebraska is seeking a Grants Management Specialist to join their Budget & Grants Management team. In this role, you will conduct financial reviews and ensure grant reimbursements align with program objectives while providing excellent customer service to various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Performs desk reviews of sub-recipient reimbursement claims and financial reports to ensure compliance with approved grant budgets, required deadlines, and program and federal regulations
Provides financial assistance related to state and federal grants, ensuring compliance with federal guidance and regulations (e.g., Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), OMB Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200))
Receives, reviews, and makes adjustments related to grant payment requests. Approves and prepares disbursements of funds and maintains payment records and documentation
Consults with and provides technical assistance to program staff, schools, educational service units, and other sub-recipients on aid program’s fiscal requirements
Gathers, analyzes, and interprets financial data to generate reports and determine regulatory allowability of expenditures
Assists with development and maintenance of grants management systems, process controls, policies, and procedures

Required

Bachelor's degree in a related field
Two years of experience related to the essential functions of the position
Understanding of grant regulations
Experience in grants management or financial reporting
Commitment to delivering excellent customer service

Preferred

Master's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related fields
Prior experience in state or federal grant review and compliance
