Solar Technician I or II

Deriva Energy, a leader in sustainable energy, is seeking a Solar Technician I or II to support multiple solar projects at the Pigsah Ridge solar site in Richland, TX. The role involves maintenance of solar facilities, compliance documentation, and additional support for other sites as needed.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and resolve faults on solar as they relate to mechanical or electrical issues
Perform pad mounted Transformer switching in accordance with all Lock Out/Tag Out procedures
Perform corrective tasks on solar equipment
Work as scheduled during the week and on call as required by manager
Always maintain a high level of safety awareness
Work in an outdoor environment for an extended period of time
Operate grounds keeping equipment including but not limited to weed eaters and lawn mowers
EH&S documentation
Complete necessary paperwork (work order, timesheet, tool, and PPE inventory and additional paperwork as necessary.)
Willing to travel and assist other Deriva Energy Sustainable Solution solar facilities when needed

Required

High school/GED
In addition to the High School/GED requirement, the ability to complete Level I job performance measures and training Deriva Energy renewables academy within 1 year
High school diploma/GED
2 years of related work experience
Completed Level I job performance measures and training Deriva Energy renewables academy
Valid driver's license
Complete initial training in Deriva Renewable Academy (DRA)

Preferred

Associates or Technical degree in Electrical Construction and Maintenance
Completion of a Solar training program
1+ years of related work experience
Additional years of wind turbine or solar experience
Experience with multiple solar supplier technology
High voltage and sub-station maintenance experience
Familiarity with mechanical and electronic testing equipment
Knowledge of heavy equipment for facility maintenance
