Responsibilities
The Platform Engineer contributes to the technical design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s platform systems
They must have a basic understanding of platform development concepts, architecture, and integration methodologies
They must have experience of ERP or Policy Administration platforms, and be able to gather business requirements, analyze system capabilities, and design effective solutions that align with organizational goals
The Platform Engineer will contribute to the customization and configuration of the organization’s platform systems, ensuring optimal performance, data integrity, and security
Additionally, the Platform Engineer will participate in system upgrades, patches, and migrations, leveraging their proficiency in specific platform modules and functionality
The Platform Engineer demonstrate experience with platform-specific programming languages such as Java or C#
They should be proficient in database management, system administration, and performance tuning within the platform environment
The Platform Engineer must have excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address platform-related issues
The Platform Engineer contributes to research and development efforts, stays up to date with technology trends, and evaluates their potential use in the organization's technical solutions
The Platform Engineer fosters collaboration and innovation across the development team
They lead by example, leveraging their technical experience to encourage creative problem solving and experimentation
They work closely with other IT professionals, product managers, designers, stakeholders, and business leaders to identify opportunities for innovation, process automation, and improve the overall user experience and performance of our platform systems
The Platform Engineer is a good communicator and an effective collaborator
They have experience sharing knowledge and mentoring other team members, helping them to grow their skills and contribute to the success of our software products
The Platform Engineer is responsible for providing support and troubleshooting for our platform systems
They work closely with all relevant subject matter experts, stakeholders, and other IT professionals to identify and resolve technical issues

The Platform Engineer leads large technical projects related to platform systems
They assist the technical lead in identifying requirements, analyzing business processes, and developing solutions to complex problems
They partner with members of the project team to transform business requirements into working software
The Platform Engineer can provide technical leadership and guidance to the project team
The Platform Engineer is responsible for coaching and mentoring members of the technical team
They are expected to lead by example, demonstrating a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of their role
The Platform Engineer helps team members understand technology best practices, software coding standards, testing methodologies, and code review practices
They work closely with other members of IT to ensure that technical solutions are developed in a way that are scalable, maintainable, secure, and efficient

Qualification
Required
Experience with Varicent
Skill in designing, implementing, and maintaining platform systems
Expertise in platform-specific programming languages, database management, and system administration
Ability to provide support and troubleshooting for platform systems
Experience resolving complex issues independently
Proactive in identifying areas for improvement and developing solutions to address technical debt
Basic understanding of platform development concepts, architecture, and integration methodologies
Experience with ERP or Policy Administration platforms
Ability to gather business requirements, analyze system capabilities, and design effective solutions
Experience in customization and configuration of platform systems
Proficiency in database management, system administration, and performance tuning
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Experience in research and development efforts
