Responsibilities

Embed corporate social responsibility (CSR) into yours and your teams’ ways of working
Responsible for technical accounting areas including hedge accounting, IFRS 16, IFRS 9
Completion of complex calculations of judgemental areas, ensuring we are adhering to both Group Accounting Policies and FRS 101
Ownership of balance sheet reconciliations with regards to both judgemental and technical accounting areas including provisions, IFRS 16 and IFRS 9
Preparation of the balance sheet, cashflow and working capital budgets/forecasts
Assist with the improvement of balance sheet reconciliations including monthly analysis and commentary for senior management reporting
Review work completed by the Assistant Financial Accountant, including reconciliations, journals and ONS submissions
Provide Finance Business Partners with detailed analysis of P&L items regarding IFRS 16, FX and exceptional costs
Ensure that Group Accounting Manuals are being followed by the Finance Team, including correct treatment of revenue vs capital expenditure. Deliver training where Group Accounting Manuals are not understood
Implement balance sheet analysis pack used for monthly reviews with the Finance Director (including a variance to prior year and analysis of risks and opportunities)
Investigation and correction of balance sheet accounts, putting through corrective entries as appropriate
Implement improvements to accounting processes eg. stock, FX, leases etc
Liaise with the external and internal auditors and managing the external interim and year end audit
Work together with the reporting & controls accountant to deliver strong internal and external audits, implementing improvements of any control deficiencies found as a result
Execution of period end financial close cut off and routines including the completion and submission of reporting requirements to Belron® Group in accordance with Group reporting deadlines and procedures
Coach and develop direct report (one direct report) in line with organisational goals
Assist in the implementation and rollout of our transformation programme, specifically with regards to leasing and control
Qualification
Required
Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with post-qualification experience
Experience in Practice is highly desirable
Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP standards
Proven experience working with internal and external auditors
Detail-oriented with the ability to meet strict deadlines
Advanced Excel and Word skills
Understanding of VAT and CT regulations
