New Grad, Entry LevelWayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking a Laboratory Intake Associate responsible for managing laboratory samples in the Chemistry and/or Microbiology laboratory. This role involves receiving, labeling, tracking, and storing samples while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining sample integrity.

Responsibilities
Receive and log incoming samples following established protocols
Assign unique identifiers and ensure accurate labeling of all samples
Maintain detailed records of sample custody, location, and status
Store samples under appropriate environmental conditions (e.g., refrigeration, freezing, ambient)
Monitor incoming sample disposition including temp checks when required
Ensure compliance with chain-of-custody procedures and regulatory guidelines
Coordinate with laboratory staff to retrieve and deliver samples for testing
Maintain cleanliness and organization of sample storage areas
Assist in audits and inspections by providing sample documentation
Report discrepancies, damaged samples, or non-compliance issues promptly
Serve as backup sample courier
Coordinate pickups and deliveries with external couriers (e.g. FedEx and UPS) as needed
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in science or related field preferred
Prior experience in a laboratory or sample management role is a plus
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and regulatory standards
Basic computer skills and experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
Ability to lift and move sample containers (up to 60lbs)
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred
Knowledge of hazardous material handling and disposal
Experience with temperature-controlled storage systems
Understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
