Automation Engineer (Dept. 761)
Milwaukee Valve Company is looking for an Automation Engineer to join their Prairie Du Sac, WI team. The role involves designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions to enhance manufacturing efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement automation solutions for manufacturing processes, including but not limited to, robotics, PLCs, and SCADA systems
Work with cross-functional teams to identify automation solutions that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality
Ensure that automation systems comply with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental requirements
Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analysis to determine the viability of automation projects
Develop and maintain documentation for automation systems, including user manuals, technical specifications, and standard operating procedures
Provide training and support to manufacturing personnel on the use of automation systems
Troubleshoot and resolve automation system issues and provide technical support as needed for both new and existing equipment
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements, including additive manufacturing, to ensure automation systems are current and relevant
Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers to leverage their expertise and resources as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) or equivalent from four-year College in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
5+ years of experience in automation engineering within a manufacturing environment
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of visitors or employees of organization
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Microsoft Office, CAD skills
Ability to understand and write programs in several equipment languages; including but not limited to: PLC, EIA/ISO G-Code, Fanuc Karel (Pascal), ABB Rapid
Ability to understand and write programs in computer languages to integrate and automate systems
