Responsibilities
Consistently demonstrates leadership qualities. Uses leadership skills to direct crews in the efficient operation of the company’s production equipment
Reads and understand all information on job ticket pertaining to a specific job. Ensures that all necessary components to produce the job are present. Does not move forward on any job with conflicting information
Able to think critically and perform work in a safe manner. Provide suggestions for improvement and ensure team members are also working in a safe manner
Strong converting line finishing skill set that leads to a full understanding of how to achieve high product quality that meets the specifications of the product
Has complete understanding and ability to operate all line ancillary equipment
Strong inline finishing skill set that leads to a full understanding and ability to effectively set up and operate all inline equipment (i.e. gluing, Labeling, Straub Applicators etc.) as well as rotary cutter with minimal supervision
Understands tension controls and ancillary equipment. Knowledge of how to web up the line, capable of setting cylinders and plates. Has the ability to perform minor mechanical repairs and adjustments
Efficiently operates in line systems with minimal supervision
Maintains 100% of standards in productivity, waste and quality standards. Accurately enters all codes for quantities, materials, and times onto required paperwork
Understands and demonstrates ability to accurately tracking line counts
Performs necessary functions to operate the line with minimal supervision. Establishes and promotes an environment for learning and process improvement. Consistently looks for improvements and efficiencies to reduce waste and increase production within quality standards set
Works within all safety guidelines and procedures. Maintains a clean and safe work environment
Ensure the maintenance of departmental housekeeping standards
Ensure compliance with all safety and work rules and regulations
Interacts well between shifts to gain and pass along all information to facilitate a smooth transition without interruption
Qualification
Required
5–7 years of relevant experience
Strong leadership and technical skills
Technical ability to operate pilot level converting lines
Understanding and adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures
Ability to think critically and work safely
Strong converting line finishing skill set
Complete understanding and ability to operate all line ancillary equipment
Strong inline finishing skill set
Understanding of tension controls and ancillary equipment
Ability to perform minor mechanical repairs and adjustments
Efficient operation of in line systems with minimal supervision
