Required
Elementary: Bachelor's degree
four (4) years of experience as a successful classroom teacher
minimum one (1) year experience in teacher leadership role(s) in elementary education
endorsed or certified in the area of reading
Must be enrolled in or have completed the CCPS Instructional Coach Bench Academy prior to commencement of work in coaching position
Applicant must be eligible for Florida Certificate in Elementary Education and Reading Certification or Endorsement
Preferred
Proficiency in designing and delivering high-quality professional learning for teachers and instructional support staff
Knowledge of major theories of language development and cognition and how those impact reading and writing instruction
Proficiency in interpreting a range of student performance data (summative and formative) for instructional decision making
Ability to plan for and facilitate collaborative planning and Professional Learning Communities, to achieve desired outcomes for instructional change
An understanding of instructional design, and familiarity with a variety of required technology applications (Focus, Data Warehouse, Canvas, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Knowledge of district school improvement initiatives, including B.E.S.T. ELA Standards, effective instruction, and assessment practices
Have a strong knowledge base in working with adult learners, excellent communicator with outstanding presentation and interpersonal and demonstrate effective time management skills
