Eligibility & Workshop Specialist

Career TEAM is a leading workforce development organization on a mission to transform lives. The Eligibility and Workshop Specialist is responsible for determining program eligibility, completing program enrollments, facilitating customer orientations and workshops, and leading the ACT WorkKeys initiative at the Oxnard American Job Center (AJCC). This role plays a critical part in ensuring customers are accurately enrolled, well-informed, and prepared to achieve workforce success through structured workshops and career readiness assessments.

Management Consulting

Responsibilities

Provide clear and accurate information regarding workforce development services and program opportunities
Conduct eligibility screenings and process program enrollments in compliance with related workforce programs
Collect, review, and verify source documentation to determine customer eligibility
Enter and maintain accurate customer data, eligibility determinations, and documentation in case management and document storage systems
Review customer files for completeness and compliance; resolve discrepancies using established procedures
Accurately document customer interactions through detailed and compliant case notes
Facilitate customer orientations and workforce-related workshops (e.g., program orientation, job readiness, career pathways)
Coordinate, administer, and lead the ACT WorkKeys initiative, including participant preparation, testing support, and documentation
Ensure all case files meet or exceed programmatic, contractual, and audit requirements
Maintain ongoing programmatic competency to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local workforce regulations
Collaborate with AJCC partners and internal staff to support integrated service delivery
Follow all organizational policies, procedures, and data confidentiality standards
Work effectively as part of a team to achieve program goals and performance outcomes
Approach daily work with flexibility, accountability, and a solutions-oriented mindset
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience in eligibility determination, workforce development, training, customer service, or related human services fields
Experience working with a culturally diverse customer population with demonstrated cultural sensitivity
Strong facilitation skills with the ability to engage and motivate customers in group settings
Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), internet-based systems, and case management platforms
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Valid Driver's License

Preferred

Bilingual in English and Spanish
Knowledge of workforce development programs
Experience facilitating workshops, orientations, or assessments
Familiarity with ACT WorkKeys or similar career readiness credentialing systems
Proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized with strong follow-through
