Policy Analyst - RN

Responsibilities

The nurse will provide clinical expertise working collaboratively across agency teams for program policy, cost efficiencies for assigned programs, data analysis, and program improvements
Reviews and provides feedback on KanCare Reports as assigned
Examines relevant data, reimbursement, and coverage issues for effectiveness, efficiency, and quality to consult with cross agency teams
Uses federal, state regulatory and statutory guidelines, legislative directives, agency policies, procedures and applicable agency objectives to plan services and develop clinical policy, also working with public advocates that can inform policy as needed
Incorporates evidence based best practice guidelines into policy development
Recommends improvements for assigned programs and services to achieve short-term and long-term goals that align with agency objectives
Interprets, directs and coordinates the application of policies and guidelines of assigned programs with contracted managed care organizations and their providers

Required

High School, GED
Licensed by the State of Kansas as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State
At least 3 years of experience in public health or clinic settings
Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate: A valid Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate is a condition of employment for all employees of the State of Kansas

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Demonstrated experience with benefits coverage and reimbursement
Relevant experience conducting program reviews
Experience working under State or Federal oversight
Proofreading, editing, attention to detail
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
