Technical Trainer 1
The AMC BOT Loft is seeking a Technical Trainer I to provide hands-on training in advanced manufacturing technologies. The role focuses on upskilling the workforce in Maine and New England through practical training and curriculum development in various manufacturing topics.

Responsibilities
Deliver hands-on, short-form technical training (1–5 days) in advanced manufacturing topics including electrical/motor control systems, PLCs, pneumatics, robotics, and Industry 4.0 technologies
Develop and adapt industry-aligned curriculum to support diverse learners—particularly the incumbent workforce—ensuring relevance to current and emerging manufacturing technologies
Lead applied labs and real-world training projects that prepare learners for immediate employment and on-the-job application in modern manufacturing environments
Collaborate across academia, industry, and outreach programs, including integration with UMaine engineering curricula and engagement with middle and high school students through boot camps and outreach initiatives
Support workforce development operations and supervision, including maintaining safe lab environments, overseeing training equipment, and providing indirect supervision and mentorship to student employees
Qualification
Required
B.S. in related Engineering field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Three or more years of relevant professional experience
Significant experience in some of the following areas: Robotics, Industry 4.0 technologies, workforce development training, machine communications/programming, motor control systems, and Automation
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to provide instruction on technical content
Preferred
Experience advising and directing student research
Demonstrated ability to operate in an educational environment
Experience with robotics (ABB, FANUC, Doosan, Universal Robots)
