Responsibilities
Lead the accounting and finance function for an active construction portfolio
Own monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing and financial reporting
Oversee job cost accounting, WIP reporting, forecasting, and margin analysis
Manage cash flow planning, banking relationships, and surety coordination
Oversee AR, AP, payroll, billing, collections, and retainage
Partner with project managers and operations leadership on financial performance
Maintain and strengthen financial controls, policies, and processes
Oversee financial systems and reporting tools
Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff
Manage audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
10+ years of construction accounting experience, preferably in NYC
Strong job cost and WIP reporting experience
Experience supporting active projects with tight cash and schedule constraints
Experience leading close, audits, and multi-entity reporting
Prior people management experience
Experience with construction accounting systems
Preferred
QuickBooks experience
