Responsibilities
Lead sourcing activities with 10+ years of industry experience in a Sourcing Lead or similar role
Support sourcing initiatives within the Marine/Boat industry, ensuring compliance with ABYC Standards
Manage sourcing for a wide range of engineering commodities including:
Sheet metal, machined components, plastics, rubber parts
Assemblies, pumps, motors, lighting systems, wiring harnesses, and related components
Provide hands-on support for new product development (NPD) at the supplier end, including:
Process mapping
Machine and tooling selection
Manufacturing feasibility reviews
Develop target and reference costs, perform detailed cost breakdowns, and lead commercial negotiations for new components
Define and execute sourcing strategies for NPD projects, including:
Identifying potential suppliers
Managing RFQ/RFP processes
Analyzing supplier quotations
Preparing comprehensive sourcing and negotiation dossiers for commodity teams
Lead supplier onboarding, qualification, and assessment activities
Drive component development in line with PPAP, CAPA, and structured problem-solving methodologies
Interpret and review engineering drawings with strong knowledge of GD&T
Define and validate production processes based on drawings and technical specifications for components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies
Utilize should-costing tools such as aPriori, Costimator, and TcPCM to support sourcing decisions
Ensure alignment with IATF 16949 Quality Management System requirements
Communicate effectively across cross-functional teams, lead sourcing initiatives, and drive projects to successful completion
Qualification
Required
10+ years of industry experience in a Sourcing Lead or similar role
Experience in strategic sourcing or supply chain leadership roles
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supplier industrialization
Proven experience in cost modeling, negotiations, and supplier development
Hands-on exposure to PPAP, CAPA, and quality-driven component development
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Compliance with ABYC Standards
Experience managing sourcing for engineering commodities including sheet metal, machined components, plastics, rubber parts, assemblies, pumps, motors, lighting systems, wiring harnesses, and related components
Experience with process mapping, machine and tooling selection, and manufacturing feasibility reviews
