DIRECTOR CLINICAL INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY -
UNM Hospital is seeking a Director of Clinical Information Technology to manage the design, installation, upgrade, and support mechanisms for clinical systems. The role involves supervising Clinical and IT Analysts, ensuring system selection aligns with organizational initiatives, and supporting education and research in collaboration with the Chief Medical Information Officer.

Responsibilities
Relate information to the Administrator IT to ensure smooth implementation of systems
Communicate with both computer and non-technical personnel in order to understand user needs and to make these needs known to appropriate system vendors and IT personnel
Coordinate all Hospitals goals into design and implementation activities of the Clinical Systems to ensure maximum benefit from systems with minimal disruption to users
Ensure Clinical Systems design and implementation activities are coordinated and in sync with the overall goals of IT
Direct the preparation and maintenance of management reports for administration
Assist in the development and management of implementation work plans and testing activities, in collaboration with vendor(s)
Coordinate and supervise system upgrades and/or system installations for the assigned project
Maintain familiarity with all Hospitals information systems, their use in the institution, the healthcare industry and trends in the health information area including compliance with State, Federal and accreditation agency regulations
Develop efficient organizational structure. Supervise employees and select, terminate, train, educate, correct deficiencies, perform appraisals, issue discipline, counsel, schedule work assignments; encourage staff teamwork and growth initiatives
Develop and administer the division's annual budget; monitor and approve expenditures
Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops
