Responsibilities
Represent clients in a wide range of commercial real estate transactions, including: acquisitions and dispositions, leasing (landlord and tenant), sale-leasebacks and related structures
Serve as day-to-day lead on matters, including managing timelines, deliverables, and deal execution
Draft, review, and negotiate key documents, including: purchase and sale agreements, leases and lease amendments, sale-leaseback documentation, and easements, access agreements, and related ancillary documents
Conduct and oversee real estate due diligence, including review of: title commitments, title policies, and surveys, zoning and other land use materials, closing documentation and conveyance instruments
Support corporate/M&A transactions by managing and advising on real estate components, including diligence summaries and deal issue resolution
Supervise junior associates and coordinate with paralegals and other practice groups as needed
Communicate directly with clients and counterparties to drive transactions forward efficiently
Qualification
Required
JD from an ABA accredited law school
6+ years of commercial real estate transactional experience, ideally at a law firm and/or in-house
Strong experience in leasing, acquisitions and dispositions, and sale-leasebacks
Demonstrated experience with real estate diligence, including title review and survey-related issues
Ability to run transactions independently and manage multiple matters simultaneously
Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
Strong attention to detail and client-service orientation
