Project Control Analyst I

They are currently seeking an experienced Project Control Analyst I responsible for forecasting and analyzing costs as well as project accounting responsibilities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and collaboration with project managers.

Responsibilities

Responsible for forecasting, analyzing the company’s costs and project accounting responsibilities as it pertains to financial accounting and project management of the business
Provide insight to management and ensure accurate financial reporting
Personal and interpersonal skills are required in order to manage confidential information as well as outside institutions and/or business partners
Inert ability to adapt to a constantly changing fast paced environment
Must be able to meet reporting deadlines, which may include accumulating unscheduled overtime
Basic Understanding and Support of Project Control Clerk responsibilities
Supports and understands daily processing of contract orders and changes as needed
Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures (JSOX)
Assist Project Managers in preparing project-related documentation, such as reporting
Monitor project budgets and track expenses, flagging any potential discrepancies or overruns to the Project Manager
Collaborate with other departments (e.g. Project Managers, production, engineering)
Monthly review and forecasting of less complex projects and other short cycle orders
Assist Project Managers in preparing project-related documentation, including reports, presentations, meeting minutes, and correspondence
Support Daifuku subsidiaries with project related items (e.g. creating estimates, project order documents)
Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements
Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes
Develop strategies to reduce costs and study product pricing to ensure optimal profitability
Assist with internal and external audits related to projects
Prepare ad-hoc reports and analyses as required
Testing and implementation of special projects as required
Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office (Excel)
Complete working knowledge of SAP (preferred) or other (MRP software)
Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to interpret and present financial data effectively
Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
Knowledge of GAAP and relevant accounting regulations
Japanese Bi-lingual a plus

Required

Bachelor of Science Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting, Finance or related field and/or equivalent experience in project accounting role in a manufacturing and/or Engineer-to-order environment
2+ Years' Experience in Project Accounting, Analyzing and or similar role
Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office (Excel)
Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to interpret and present financial data effectively
